Open Mics

I can’t believe how much fun I’m having doing this! Ok, I can. I hope you can join us to listen, share in and contribute to a wonderful night and eclectic collection of music at our open mic nights.

Rte 56 Roadside Bar and Grill
Wednesdays 7:30 – 11:30

It seems every week there are new faces and sounds. This open mic is fast becoming a great place to network with other musicians, meet and make new friends and fans. On Feb 1, 2012, we began the “Song Writers Open Mic”, this will happen the first Wednesday of every month. Its a great night to hear, meet and talk with other song writers. I have to say, it is quite an experience with AHWebTV capturing video of the performences, its not like a little cam-corder hiding in a corner somewhere, spot lights and a roaming videographer add that big stage feel to the night.

Videos of the Route 56 open mic nights are courtesy of Jonathan Avalon and Animated Human Web TV Video will be done weekly at this site and will evolve into something that will be very cool and beneficial to everyone! Stay tuned for the evolution!

Here is one of the songs that came out of the “Neon” challenge written and performed by Mike Byrnes. Video by AHWebTV

So, put your “Fire” song together and come down to Rte 56 this Wednesday, May 2 and burn it up!

Point Breeze
Tuesdays 7:30 to ????

I also host an Open Mic every Tuesday at Point Breeze Restaurant in Webster, MA. A.J., the proprietor of Point Breeze,  treats us all very well with a $10 food credit for every player! Behind the bar is Stevo, he takes good care of us as well.
This was the first open mic I had ever attempted creating and it has proven to be a lot of fun and personally rewarding. I get to “jam” with folks if they want me too. I also get to enjoy watching and hearing musicians evolve over time, in some cases, taking on a sort of informal mentor role. I have learned a lot myself over this past year and a half, and have been pleasantly suprised at the talent that I’ve seen grace the stage.
Yep, I’m living the dream, thanks for sharing it with me.

Thanks to everyone for your support of these open mics, I look forward to everyone of them, I hope you do too.
See ya there.
